"Making A World Of Difference"

MPS (Micro-current Point Stimulation)

This modality uses a DC micro-current, the same current that your body naturally runs on and uses to heal itself.
MPS can be used by itself, or in conjunction with other modalities for a much more effective treatment.

What is MPS® Therapy?:

MPS® stands for Micro-current Point Stimulation and was formerly called ETPS® which stands for Electrical Therapeutic Point Stimulation; the name was changed recently for medical coding purposes world wide. MPS® Therapy is the world’s first integrative therapy developed exclusively to fight pain.

The theoretical underpinnings of MPS® therapy are based on sound medicine, firmly grounded in the concepts of acupuncture, modern neurology, micro-current stimulation and myofascial release (muscular relaxation) techniques. MPS®’s unique contribution to pain relief comes from the synthesis of these different approaches, combining the therapeutic ‘pearls’ of these different therapies into easy-to-use protocols

By following the recommended protocols, physicians/therapists are able to identify anatomical areas most responsible for contributing to a patient's pain condition. Areas deemed ineffective in producing positive therapeutic responses are eliminated from future treatments. Areas producing positive responses are examined diagnostically to determine interrelationship(s) with the patient's condition and are integrated into future protocols. Using this approach, MPS® can produce superior results over traditional pain therapy techniques in a fraction of the time. All without drugs, side effects, pads or gels.

MPS® has been a remarkable success in the fight against chronic pain. The results are so impressive using this approach, that complete or substantial relief from pain may often occur in the first or second treatment. Most patients require 2-10 treatments for permanent results, with some chronic patients requiring ongoing treatments in the home setting. MPS® can be individualized to any patient's needs and applied non-invasively in almost any setting, indoor or out, usually within 5-15 minutes. MPS® stimulation is significantly more effective than any other therapies offered on the marketplace, decreasing recovery time by over 80%.

MPS® protocols bridge many different treatment philosophies to provide therapeutic responses where other modalities fail to achieve successful results. Because it is effective in the diagnosis of root causes of pain, MPS® therapy can serve as an invaluable tool to all health professionals in their efforts to substantiate current treatment and as an integrative tool for current protocols.

The MPS® Units

The MPS® TENS US Unit, originally called the ETPS 1000® is now called the Dolphin, safely detects treatment points on the surface of your skin, then applies concentrated micro stimulation to motor, trigger and Acupoints for a fast, intensified healing response.

The Dolphin Unit is very different than traditional TENS, which apply Alternating Current (AC) via pads over large skin areas. The Dolphin Unit applies concentrated, Direct Current (DC) micro-current stimulation to specific treatment points in minute, short bursts. This approach produces a completely different sensation and healing response than traditional TENS. MPS® TENS has been clinically proven to be very effective for chronic intractable pain control.

How does MPS® Dolphin unit work?

Traditional acutherapy and trigger point needling have been scientifically proven to release natural pain relievers. The Dolphin unit has been designed to evoke the very same beneficial response, "tapping" into our body's own internal pain relieving system.

The MPS® Dolphin Unit also has a feature which allows the user to either increase or decrease circulation to the area of injury through a polarity reversal. Decreasing circulation setting is similar to ice therapy, and is most beneficial for pain control and reduction of swelling. Increasing circulation setting is similar to heat therapy and is most beneficial for immune enhancement and neural regeneration. Helping to reduce or increase the blood flow to the area greatly contributes to the natural healing process.

How long will pain relief last?

One application can provide hours, days or weeks of relief depending on condition and severity. Results will vary depending on condition and the severity, but outcomes are usually cumulative, providing better and better results over time.

This device was invented and developed by Dr. Bruce Hocking, DOM, MDMA. The protocols utilized during treatments were developed by him and our therapists were taught by Dr. Hocking personally. Some cutting edge technology is being developed by John and Dr. Hocking utilizing the use of essential oils with the use of the MPS® units.
